Walt the Vault, (“Oh, I’m Walt the Vault,”)
Walt the Vault, (“That’s what they call me.”)
Everybody likes new toys,
Mommies, daddies, girls and boys,
But use your brains when shopping, please,
‘Cause money doesn’t grow on trees!
Walt the Vault, Walt the Vault
Save your nickels, save your dimes,
Listen well to all my rhymes,
If you do, it’s me you’ll thank,
It’s money in your bank!
Ka-ching!
Walt the Vault, (“Oh, I’m Walt the Vault,”)
Walt the Vault, (“That’s what they call me.”)
Everybody likes new toys,
Mommies, daddies, girls and boys,
But use your brains when shopping, please,
‘Cause money doesn’t grow on trees!
(“You gotta save your money in there, you know.”)
You may want new shoes for the fall,
Or all the CD’s at the mall,
But rather than, “Shop till you drop,”
Learn when to stop!
And, save your nickels, save your dimes,
Listen well to all my rhymes,
If you do, it’s me you’ll thank,
For the money in your bank!
There’re certain things that money can’t buy,
Like friends or the earth and the sky.
Yes, it always feels nice,
To get things at half-price,
But there’re certain things that money can’t buy.
You can’t purchase dreams off the shelf,
You just got to make them yourself.
And to live with good health,
Is much better that wealth,
Certain things that money can’t buy.
Walt the Vault, (That’s me, Walter,”) Walt the Vault,
You may have a jar full of pennies,
Pockets all filled up with twenties,
But if you keep spending all year,
Your money will soon disappear!
Save your nickels, save your dimes,
Listen well to all my rhymes,
If you do, it’s me you’ll thank,
It’s money in your bank!
Money doesn’t grow on the trees.
It isn’t found in chunks of cheese.
You do a job and you get paid,
And that’s how money, that’s how it’s made,
Oh, you earn money by working, that’s right.
When we see things we want to buy,
“I want it NOW!”, we sometimes cry,
But even though they may look great,
The final sale may have to wait.
You may have to wait before you can buy,
Something you want.
I said, when we see things we want to buy,
I want it NOW!, we sometimes cry,
Even though they may look great,
The final sale may have to wait.
You may have to wait before you can buy,
Something you want.
Wants and needs are not the same,
You need some food, you want a game.
Remember this when in a store,
You won’t waste money anymore.
There is a difference between things you want and things you need.
I said, your wants and needs are not the same,
You need some food, you want a game.
Remember this when in a store,
You won’t waste money anymore.
There’s a difference between things you want and things you need.
You need to make some choices,
About how to spend your money.
Before you spend it, you must choose,
Exactly how much cash to use.
‘Cause once you spend it in a store,
The money’s not yours anymore.
No, no, no, that money’s not yours, the money’s not yours any more.
Oh, no, no, no, no, the money’s not yours anymore.
The money’s not yours anymore.
Dear money friends, here’s my advice,
Before you shop, compare the price,
Of everything you want to buy,
‘Cause some are low and some are high.
It’s good to shop around,
And compare prices before you buy.
When surfing on the Internet,
Beware of those you haven’t met.
It’s quite the risky situation,
Sharing all your information.
It can be costly and dangerous,
To share all that information on the Internet.
It’s wise to start a bank account,
It’s fine, even if it’s a small amount.
Your money’s safer and you’ll learn,
There’s yearly interest that you’ll earn.
Put your money in a savings account,
They’ll pay you interest too,
Now, that a pretty good deal, woo, hoo, ooh.
The road to your future will bring you to doors,
Just open them up and the future is yours.
The door may be locked so you might need a key,
If you want to be what you will hope you will be.
Unlock your dreams, unlock your dreams.
The stores are filled with lots of things,
With toys and games and diamond rings.
There’s orange juice and milk and honey,
But you can’t shop without some money,
No, no, you need that dough.
The stores are filled with lots of things,
With toys and games and diamond rings.
Oh, there’s orange juice and milk and honey,
But you can’t shop without some money,
You need money to buy things, that’s the truth.
The stores are filled with lots of things,
With toys and games and diamond rings.
Oh, there’s orange juice and milk and honey,
But you can’t shop without some money,
You need money to buy things, oh, yeah, yeah.
When we see things we want to buy,
“I want it NOW!”, we sometimes cry,
But even though they may look great,
The final sale may have to wait.
Before you spend it, you must choose,
Exactly how much cash to use.
