and Seaford Boy Scouts educated kids on the benefits of being financially responsible
SEAFORD, NY – January 23, 2015 – Local children participated in a hands-on, educational event hosted by the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), Nassau Chapter, Financial Literacy Committee and Seaford Boy Scout Packs 581 and 239, and Troop 581. Kids moved from table to table taking part in activities encouraging monetary awareness.
“It is extremely important to educate children about money management as early as possible,” said Karen Tenenbaum, chair of the Committee of NYSSCPA, Nassau. “Children should learn about saving and the differences between wants and needs.”
The mission of the Financial Literacy Committee is to reach out to children in order to guide them on their journey toward financial literacy and fiscal responsibility. The Committee exposes kids to engaging and instructional material which help them understand money and finances at an age-appropriate level.
